ABOUT OUR FAMILY
At Favorite Brands, we are proud to be family-owned and operated. Our company was founded by the LaMantia family, who has deep roots within the Texas business community. We go way back to 1978 when our family patriarch, Joe LaMantia Jr, purchased L&F Distributors— an Anheuser-Busch distributor— in McAllen, Texas.
L&F Distributors became the premier beer distributor along the Texas-Mexico border through the hard work of Joe Jr and his five children: Val, Joe III, Greg, Steve and Tony.
In 2011, the LaMantias purchased a Dallas beer, wine and liquor distributor, founding the first Favorite Brands warehouse. Since, Favorite Brands has expanded into the Houston, Austin and San Antonio areas, as well as Albuquerque, New Mexico.
What started with only 11 employees evolved into 13 warehouses with more than 1,200 employees throughout Texas and New Mexico. Our Favorite Brands sales representatives and management is arguably one of the most knowledgeable in the industry.
We take pride in our unique and elite portfolio spanning from the best craft and import beers, to boutique wine and liquors from many corners of the world.
With more than 40 years of working in the cutthroat alcohol industry, the LaMantia family continues being heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of Favorite Brands and L&F Distributors warehouses by assigning at least one family member per market.
Each LaMantia is focused on bettering their communities, primarily through Stars Scholarship Fund, the family’s non-profit organization focused on promoting access to and success in higher education for all students in the community. Through fundraising events and community donations, Stars Scholarship Fund has disbursed more than $36.5 million since 2001 and has awarded scholarships to more than 17,000 students from South and West Texas.
